Re: Tyler County School Closures, revised (2)
From: Superintendents of All Tyler County Schools
Dear Pirate family:
In order to comply with the National, State and local judicial mandates; all Tyler County schools will extend the suspension of classes and continue remote, home-based learning through Thursday, April 30, 2020. The week of April 13th – April 17th will remain our scheduled spring break. Both Friday May 1st and Monday, May 4th will be faculty and staff workdays (no students) in order to give teachers the opportunity to prepare for the return of students to the classroom. As of today, we are planning that students will return to school on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. We also acknowledge that this anticipated return date could change should the COVID-19 crisis continue.
It is imperative that we all read and heed Judge Blanchette’s decree found here. Violation(s) of this “Stay at Home” order comes with a fine up to $1000 or up to 180 days in jail. We need to ensure that, as a community, we all follow these orders so that we can return to normalcy as soon as possible!
Please continue to monitor the district website for additional updates. As always, should you have any questions or concerns or if we can help your family in any way… please contact the school your child attends.
Pirate On,
Morgan
