Spurger High School's 1st Annual Senior Signing Day was a success. Today, we had nine seniors sign a certificate of intent as they commit to furthering their education. We want to thank Texas A&M Agrilife and RSSI for making celebrations like this possible for our seniors. A special thanks also to Luke Bourgeois from LIT for being our speaker today and sharing a valuable message with our students.
Students are you ready for our End of School Year Summer Bash?! On Thursday, we will have carnival games, door prizes, snow cones, popcorn, and more! Field Day 2021 was a huge success!! A very special thank you to Coach Brinkley for once again creating a Field Day that the kids will not forget! Our old friend, Mr. Rain, made an appearance, but if there is anything we have learned this past year, it is to just roll with it!! The students, high school helpers, and staff had a good time enjoying games, snow cones, and popcorn. Thank you to all who helped make this a great day. 😊

She deserves to be acknowledged and praised every day of the year. We love you Nurse Pam! 😊

NOTIFICATION OF CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE ON CAMPUS
04/26/2021
Dear Parent/Guardian,
In keeping with Spurger ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the HS campus on 04/23/2021. You are receiving this notice, because you or your child was present on the campus in the two days prior to the onset of the individual’s diagnosis of COVID-19. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
Spurger ISD’s Mitigation Plan provides for extensive cleaning and sanitization protocols, as well as social distancing procedures, including the wearing of face masks. As such, CDC guidance provides that the risk of someone contracting COVID-19 from the staff member is low and this notice is being provided in an abundance of caution. The local health department has begun a case investigation and will contact any individuals determined to be in close contact with the infected individual. All students and staff that came into close contact will be directly notified no later than 04/26/2021. Those that were in close contact will remain off campus for up to 10 days to ensure they do not have the virus, so that there will not be any further spread. We will keep you apprised of further updates.
Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection:
-Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth;
-Sore throat;
-New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (or, for students with a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);
-Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain; or
-New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever.
If you or any member of the HS School community does begin experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. We encourage anyone in the HS School community who is lab-confirmed to have COVID19 to please notify our school by contacting (409) 429-3464.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to huttop@spurgerisd.org or visit our website at https://www.spurgerisd.org/ .
Sincerely,
Morgan Wright
